Indigenous Varietals of Italy! A Class & Guided Tasting

Time & Location

Nov 09, 2019, 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Tailfeather, 581 Myrtle Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11205, USA

About the event

Join us for a class and guided tasting of natural Italian wines. Christopher Prewett from Critical Mass Selections will be with us to talk about Italian wines made from indigenous grape varieties. Chris will share his immense knowledge of Italy's winemaking history, laws, regions and a brief overview of what makes Italy's natural wines so special.

It is reported that there are over 2000 grape varietals used to make wine in Italy, a dizzying number to say the least.  Further, Italy topped the list of wine producing countries (by volume) in 2018; out of such an ocean of wine, we’ll focus on small, artisanal producers working with indigenous varietals and dedicated to using only natural winemaking techniques.  We'll taste 6 wines. 21+
